The room was dimly lit, the soft hum of the night surrounding them. Xavier’s arm was wrapped around Iris, his head resting against her chest as they lay together in the quiet comfort of their bed. The weight of parenthood didn’t change the way his heart beat for her—if anything - it made it more intense. His eyes flickered to the crib beside their bed, where their daughter- Aria lay peacefully sleeping.

He studied the little figure, the soft rise and fall of her tiny chest. For a moment, he just watched her, a feeling of warmth and protectiveness filling him. He never imagined he could love someone the way he loved Iris, the way he loved their daughter. The life they had now was so different from the restless, obsessive nature that once defined him. Yet, somehow, it only made his feelings deeper, more consuming.
